WHAT IS Goat Yoga?

Goat Yoga is yoga practiced in the presence of - and in tandem - with goats. One of our instructors said it best: “Yoga connects us to the present moment and to our bodies.  Animals already live very happily and easily in the moment, so when we share our practice space with them, we tend to see through their eyes and become connected and present ourselves.  It’s a simple way to be joyful and play.”

Goats enjoy being your props, to steady you in that challenging pose. They love to demonstrate their own version of “downward goat” or their favorite “tree pose with a partner” (aka head butting). They may also just take a nap on your mat. We will provide special treats for you to feed them.

THERAPEUTIC BENEFITS OF CUDDLING GOATS

Some of our participants have said:

“Great fun…good yoga class…for beginners too. The goat experience was so much fun and the barn is clean, fresh and lovely.”

“An absolutely wonderful experience. Everyone was so welcoming and the facility was lovely. The yoga instructor had beautiful energy and the goats were fantastic. I loved their fancy attire. Opportunities for photos were plentiful. It will be a fun day to remember and repeat in the future. Loved every minute of being on the farm.”

“It’s just silly, giggling yoga with goats all around.  Actually. It’s quite peaceful and even more present in the moment.  It’s light-hearted barnyard fun with some yoga involved. It’s like being a kid again.”

Our Classes

Our Regular Goat Yoga classes for 13 & Over are Slow Flow beginner friendly and last about 60 minutes with plenty of time for photos during and after class. We can provide some accommodations for persons with disabilities - please contact us in advance so we are prepared. For the first 15 minutes of class our Certified Yoga Instructor will lead you through breathe work and postures before the goats join in. We have 11 very friendly, lovable, and inquisitive goats, each with a unique personality. Our group includes a Fainting Goat, Nigerian Dwarf’s, and Nigerian Dwarf crosses. They range in age from 3 years to 9 years and are all experienced at Goat Yoga.  Check out our page “Our Goats” for photos.  They will each be wearing a collar with their name on it for class. We rotate the goats through each class so that not all 11 are in class at one time. Regular class fees start at $26 per person. Private classes start at $324 for a group of up to 12, but may include up to 25. At private classes, children ages 8 and up are welcome with adult supervision. Please contact us for details on pricing.

Do you have a whole group of friends who want to attend goat yoga?  Want to host a birthday party, a bridal shower, team building, fund raising event? We can provide private classes for persons with disabilities. Check our website under “Private Events”.
